Find your flow
Pilates that meets you where you are.
My mat Pilates classes are designed to help you develop strength, control, mobility and body awareness in a welcoming, supportive environment.
With my background in sports therapy, I bring a rehabilitation-inspired approach to my teaching, with a focus on understanding movement, building strength progressively and helping you move with greater confidence. I incorporate elements of rehab-style exercise into classes, encouraging you to work with your body, develop control and build a strong foundation for movement.
We focus on the core principles of Pilates, including breathing, concentration, control, precision and flowing movement, while incorporating exercises that support mobility, stability and functional movement.

YOUR PRACTICE, YOUR PACE.
Pilates isn't about keeping up with everyone else. It's about understanding your body, developing your movement and finding what works for you. Kind words from my clients…
“Words cannot describe how wonderful Abi’s classes are. She is deeply committed, creative, and truly attentive to her workout buddies needs. Working with Abi in pilates sessions is a wonderful experience; she leads them with great care and focuses on individual requirements. Everyone should benefit from Abi’s potential, knowledge, commitment, and dedication. Book yourself one session and you will sink into it. I can truly recommend it.”
“I honestly couldn’t rate Abi highly enough. I’ve had a couple of massages with her, attended several of her Pilates classes and a day retreat, and I also swim with her at masters swimming at the Harrogate Hydro.
I do a lot of swimming and cycling, and I’m trying to get back into running. I’d tried Pilates at different places over the years but never really understood its benefits. Because I already do so much physical activity, I assumed the last thing I needed was more strength work.
Abi’s classes have changed my view. Her exercises seem to balance out the muscles I overwork and strengthen the ones I neglect, combining stretching, strengthening and real work on mobility. She also explains the principles behind Pilates, such as control, breathing, alignment, core and posture, which has helped me understand what we’re doing and why.
Her teaching style is spot on: not too pushy, but definitely not a walk in the park either, and always understanding. She adapts the pace to suit each class, so everyone gets the most out of it.
I’ve already noticed a difference. The day after one of her classes I went cycling and had so much more energy. I usually hate hills, but I almost enjoyed them! It felt like some of my tight muscles had been reset.
Abi’s background in sports therapy, and her experience competing as a swimmer at national level, really shows. She understands what people like me need: we’re already fit and active but could do with some fine-tuning. Her classes would benefit anyone, but if you’re into sport, and especially swimming, I’d highly recommend her.”
“Excellent Pilates sessions. The class is welcoming and supportive and you really feel like you’ve achieved something 😁 “

Frequently asked questions
A few things you might like to know.
Whether you're completely new to Pilates or returning to your practice, here are a few answers to help you feel more confident before joining a class.
-
Not at all! My classes are suitable for all levels, including complete beginners. Exercises are layered to provide different options, allowing you to work at a level that feels right for you.
-
Absolutely not. You don't need to be particularly fit or flexible to get started. Pilates is an opportunity to develop strength, control, mobility and body awareness at your own pace.
-
Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. Leggings or comfortable exercise trousers and a top that stays in place during movement are great options. I would also recommend wearing grippy socks if you have them or being barefoot during the class.
-
No! All equipment is provided, so you don't need to buy anything before your first class. However, you are more than welcome to bring your own if youd prefer!

Classes focus on the core elements of Pilates, including breathing, control, core engagement, concentration and precise movement. We also incorporate mobility work and exercises designed to develop strength, stability and body awareness.

-
That's completely fine! Everyone's body is different, and not every movement will feel the same for everyone. Exercises can be adapted or adjusted where appropriate, and you're always encouraged to work within your own comfortable range.
